why
For whom do I blog? I think originally I started to write here because it was easier than phoning people. I have inherited my mum's dislike (to a passionate degree) of the telephone. It is cold, impersonal, and artificial. People multitask while talking on the phone, and not in a positive way. At least when you're talking to someone in person, if they are juggling more than one task, there are moments of connection - a smile, a nod in agreement, a puzzled face denoting the need for better communication... even simple eye contact or a touch on the hand. I think that I am a people person in the real sense - I need the non-verbal communication, the touch-factor that makes so many others uncomfortable. I think there are few people in my world who can say they've had a conversation with me when I haven't invaded their personal space, or touched them out of the blue. Guess it's part of my charm.
Talk to you soon.
